Culture

🚧 In progress — design gap.

Culture is the doctrine-meme view of the living world: religions, customs, languages, art, values, and identity — how cultures form, spread, diverge, and clash.

The mechanics this layer is built on are designed in the meme system:

  • Doctrine memes carry conviction — and a custom is a doctrine’s affinity enjoining a praxis.
  • Conviction & Conflict already produces schism, reformation, and conversion from a single self-resolving mechanism.
  • Language is a lore meme; identity weights (civ/settlement/faction) live on each individual.
  • How distinct cultures and religions are seeded and individuated.
  • Customs and norms as social pressure on behaviour (beyond the individual conviction score).
  • Art as both standalone output and the combinatorial “refined tier” layer.
  • The “alchemy-as-worldview” style of belief-system deferred out of Chemistry.
  • How players found, spread, and exploit beliefs — see Persuade & Believe.
